For Etsy sellers

Review your design, source, and product facts before listing.

Check Etsy's current rules for 3D printed items, which require the seller's original design. A model license or file check does not decide whether you can list an item.

Decor, replacement parts, wearables, and functional products change the questions you should ask about source, fit, safety, finish, and price.

01 / Before you list

A listing has more than one kind of risk.

Prepare a Source Review

Build a checklist for the license, creator trail, attribution, commercial-use terms, and policy-sensitive claims you must verify on the live page.

Review Pricing Inputs

Use the actual slicer, printer, material purchase, labor, packaging, shipping, fee, tax, and overhead inputs before committing a price.

Customer Handoff

Share a clear review report, then capture binding production authorization through the shop's normal order or contract process.

Review Shop Risk

Identify unsupported claims and record inputs relevant to refunds, order disputes, and listing risk.

Three separate questions

Check the marketplace rules, source, and production plan separately.

Read Etsy's current rules. Keep the design and license evidence you rely on, then verify the exact job in your slicer. A URL, license label, or mesh result does not answer every question.

Work through a seller decision

Teaching example: a downloaded planter may have a license and still need a separate marketplace-policy review. Record the facts you can verify; a good mesh result settles neither question.

Keep the source URL, dated license evidence, design-author evidence, required attribution, current policy evidence, and unresolved questions together. Use original photos of the real final product and only confirmed dimensions and features.

Building a listing or shipment?

Use a real product photo for the browser-based image layouts, or review the file-tool examples while their intake is paused. No Etsy connection is required.

Review Etsy's current Creativity Standards before listing. Etsy is a third-party marketplace; 3D Print Pass is not affiliated with or endorsed by Etsy and does not decide listing eligibility.
