Getting Started

What is 3D Print Pass?

3D Print Pass connects file preflight, geometry preparation, failed-print troubleshooting, source review, and public maker discussions so makers and print sellers can make better decisions before committing to a job.

Which 3D Print Pass tool should I use?

Use Print Score for geometry preflight on an STL or supported 3MF, Print Studio to inspect and prepare real geometry, Print Analysis for a failed print or repair question, Seller Workshop for file inspection, scale, listing, comparison, and packaging tasks, Source Check for a public model-page evidence checklist, and Community to read public maker discussions.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Start with the available free preview. Eligible report sections show their access level and credit cost before you unlock them. Buying credits is a separate checkout.

File intake

Files & Security

Which file formats work where?

Print Score accepts STL and supported 3MF files up to the displayed limit. Saved Upload accepts STL, 3MF, OBJ, and AMF for an account-scoped custody and configured-check status record subject to the stated retention terms; only eligible STL and 3MF records expose the Print Score continuation.

Can I check a file without signing in?

No. Print Score file uploads require sign-in before security review and analysis. A successful check is saved to your account. You can view the public sample report without uploading a file.

What happens to a signed-in file check?

A successful signed-in check creates an owner-scoped saved Print Score report. The file is not published as a marketplace listing or Community post unless you take a separate eligible publish action.

When should I use Saved Upload?

Use Saved Upload when you need a custody receipt and review status for a customer file, especially for OBJ or AMF files that cannot use the direct STL/3MF geometry check.

What is the difference between the 3D File Structure Check and Saved Upload?

The Structure Check currently shows a sample and guidance; new file checks are paused, including after sign-in. Its sample illustrates bounded parser and command checks, not an antivirus verdict. It creates no saved custody receipt. Use Saved Upload when an unknown file needs an account-scoped custody record and the external-malware status configured for that deployment; later access depends on current authorization and retention.

Are all uploads externally malware-scanned?

No. Scanner-backed file routes wait for the configured external verdict. Print Analysis photo/model uploads and the four Seller Workshop file-submission tools are paused in this mode, including for signed-in users. The browser-local Listing Image Pack does not send its chosen photo to the server.

Should I keep my own copy of every file?

Yes. 3D Print Pass is a workflow tool, not archival or backup storage. Keep the untouched source and any verified exports in storage you control.

Print Score & Reports

How does Print Score work?

Print Score parses supported model geometry and reports current-coordinate dimensions, named mesh counts, and a disclosed five-check rubric where those checks complete. It does not measure failure risk, promise print success, or replace machine-specific slicing and validation.

What can Print Score not prove?

Print Score does not create a machine-specific toolpath, simulate part strength, certify fit or safety, determine source rights, inspect every possible thin wall, or guarantee that a particular printer, material, profile, and environment will succeed.

What happens after I check a file?

You receive a score and report preview. A successful signed-in check creates a saved report; eligible report sections, sharing, and downloads depend on the report's unlock level and account access.

Can I share a report?

Eligible unlocked saved reports can create a customer link with a selected expiry, and you can revoke it. By default, anyone holding the active link can open it. You can instead require the intended recipient's confirmed account. Review that access choice before sharing.

Can I compare model revisions?

Yes. When you have access to the relevant details and at least two saved reports, Compare shows recorded rubric and named mesh-check differences between the selected versions. Read each report separately for dimensions. The comparison does not establish whether printability or production risk improved.

Working tools

Print Studio & Saved Work

When should I use Print Analysis?

Use Print Analysis to organize written symptoms and rule-matched next checks. Photo and model-file attachments are currently unavailable; a signed-in user can still describe a model for a text-based preparation preview. Check File handles supported STL/3MF geometry through its separate security-reviewed intake.

Where are my saved analysis cases?

Signed-in cases that were explicitly saved appear in Print Cases. Browser drafts are separate: when browser storage accepts the write, the current draft schema is designed for supported text and choices rather than uploaded-file bytes, with a configured seven-day maximum. Browser cleanup may remove a draft sooner, and restoration is explicit.

What is Print Studio for?

Print Studio is the inspection and preparation workspace for supported model actions. Use the visible model, status, preview, and download to confirm what actually ran rather than assuming a button changed the file.

Do I need an account for Print Studio?

No account is required to open the base workspace or use the sample. Sign-in is required for owner-scoped saved imports, account history, credits, and any capability whose access prompt says it is gated.

Does signing in save my Studio work?

Signing in by itself is not a Studio workspace-save action. The current Studio design keeps live transforms, measurements, edits, slice settings, layers, and generated G-code in the active tab while that page state remains available. When enabled and accepted by browser storage, optional restore is designed for the accepted source for up to 24 hours rather than live edits; browser cleanup may end availability sooner. Export browser-local plans for another device, and download verified output before leaving.

What can the Studio AI advisor actually do?

It can explain deterministic measured findings or slicer settings and suggest the next bounded check. It cannot independently edit geometry, slice or generate G-code, release a download, approve safety, change a deterministic decision, or promise print success.

Does a G-code preview prove the file is safe?

No. Studio does not execute the file, simulate your firmware, or validate every machine dialect. Review temperatures, motion limits, start and end routines, bounds, scale, orientation, and the target printer before use.

Where is the complete Print Studio tool guide?

The Studio Bible explains the full workflow, saving and recovery, direct editing, slicing, G-code, measurement, troubleshooting, and expert tools.

Public maker knowledge

Community & Sharing

Is Community public and free?

Public questions and visible answers can be read without an account. Ordinary posting and new account creation are paused during this limited beta. When posting opens, an eligible signed-in account will be required to write a question, answer, or comment.

Can Community see my file automatically?

No. Checking, uploading, or opening a model in Studio does not publish it. A Community question or eligible report-backed discussion uses a separate review and submission path.

What does Studio send to Community?

Nothing is posted automatically. Studio prepares an unposted draft from selected model facts, printer, material, symptoms, and measured regions. The draft builder does not automatically add raw model bytes, storage-path fields, or owner-only report fields. Community posting is paused during this limited beta.

What does an accepted Community solution mean?

It means the question owner marked that public answer as the useful solution for their situation. It is not legal, engineering, safety, marketplace, or print-success certification.

Can I report unsafe or misleading Community content?

Yes. The report form creates an internal moderation request and does not require sign-in. Submission does not hide the content as part of that request, so do not follow advice that appears unsafe while it is being reviewed.

Data boundaries

Privacy & Retention

Does Source Check open or scrape a marketplace page?

No. It validates the submitted public URL structure and builds a platform-specific evidence checklist; it does not fetch, scrape, log in to, or prove the contents of the remote page.

Can I delete retained account data?

Use the account personal-data tools where available or submit a tracked privacy request for access, export, correction, erasure, restriction, or objection. Some records may need to be retained for security, billing, dispute, or legal obligations; the request record shows unresolved work or holds instead of reporting an unverified deletion as complete.

Plans and purchases

Plans, Credits & Billing

What does it cost?

You can start free. Credits unlock eligible paid report sections, Premium Analysis, and some Studio AI explanations or edit planning, while monthly plans bundle stated usage allowances. Checkout shows the current price and purchase terms before confirmation.

When do plan limits reset?

Paid-plan counters labeled “this subscription period” apply to the active period shown in the account. The Free allowance is an account-level total and does not promise a monthly reset.

Why do subscribers still see credits?

Paid plans include the stated report and analysis allowances. Credits cover eligible one-off unlocks or overflow. Optional Studio AI uses prepaid credits separately; see the current price and terms before requesting it.

What happens when I cancel a subscription?

After the billing provider successfully confirms cancellation, the current flow schedules the subscription to move to Free at the end of the then-current paid period unless checkout-specific terms or applicable law state otherwise. Cancellation does not itself issue a refund. Contact payments support promptly about duplicate or incorrect charges; any remedy required by applicable law remains available.

Does 3D Print Pass store my full card number?

In the current provider-hosted card-entry flow, full card-number and security-code fields are submitted on the provider surface. 3D Print Pass does not intentionally request or persist those fields in its application records; it may retain limited provider identifiers, billing and transaction status, and display details such as card brand, last four digits, expiration month and year, funding type, and country.

Identity and access

Account & Login

Why create an account?

Accounts enable owner-scoped saved Print Score reports, projects and report revisions, saved upload and analysis history, eligible tokenized share links, PDF/customer reports, profile controls, and billing access. Signing in does not turn the live Studio tab into account autosave.

Can I change my profile name or avatar?

Yes. Account Profile lets you generate or edit an appropriate unique profile name. An optional avatar must pass the configured file-type, size, dimension, content-signature, and security checks before replacing the current image. An external-malware verdict exists only where that integration is enabled.

Can I change my email address?

Yes. Account Email requires current-password verification for password-backed accounts or a recent external sign-in, then confirms ownership of the new address before changing it.

What if I no longer have access to my old email address?

If you can still sign in and satisfy the account verification step, use Account Email to confirm a new address. If you cannot complete verification or sign in, contact account support; saved work and billing may not move automatically to a second account.
