Print Studio Model preparation workspace

Inspect, prepare, and hand off the model behind the job.

Inspect the built-in model and review available preparation steps. Your own files enter through security-reviewed upload; saved results show the checks completed for that file.

GOALS

Choose where to start

Pick the outcome you need.

Pick one outcome The right workspace opens next.

Opening a goal changes no model; each operation says whether it previews, commits immediately with Undo, or creates a separate artifact.

What it does. Rebuilds and independently checks a prepared STL. How to use it. Run the rebuild once, read the result, then download it or show the exact original again. Output. A verified rebuilt STL and a center-screen before/after receipt; failed or unsupported postconditions are reported rather than admitted as a verified rebuild.

RECOMMENDED · VERIFIED REBUILD

Prepare a bounded repair model

Measure, clean, orient, fit, and independently re-read one prepared STL.

Nothing is changed yet. The sample is intentionally challenging: preparation applies only changes that pass the named geometry checks, and unresolved layer risks can still be refused.

Truth boundary: this changes and verifies real STL bytes. It does not invent missing CAD intent or guarantee a successful physical print. Keep the original for rollback.

Browser restore: source onlyUp to 24 hours · edits are not saved
Optional source-file recovery

If enabled, Print Studio keeps only the original accepted STL or 3MF source file in this browser for no more than 24 hours so it can recover after a refresh.

Edits are not saved. This source-file recovery does not include transforms, repairs, measurements, slice settings, undo history, or generated files. Saved production plans and outcome records are separate browser-local tools.

For an existing saved job, browser restore may keep only its same-site route pointer instead of file bytes; access is checked again before navigation.

This browser-restore control does not create a server project or save a copy to your account. Analyzing a selected file still sends it to the separate analysis endpoint.

Open the complete Studio save map in a new tab so this workspace stays open.

Shared browser? Turn this off and delete the browser copy before leaving.

Browser restore is off. Source files and edits are not being kept by this control.

Planning score

1 × 3D-Print-Pass-sculpture.stl in PLA: review high-risk setup. Unsliced heuristic allowances: 8.1 hours and 77.8 g each; USD 111.26 total quote allowance. These are not measured print time or material consumption. Validate actual toolpaths, material use, and machine setup before quoting production. Review 2 documented conditions.

Planning score40/100Rule-based settings comparison: 0 points from baseline, not a measured change in print quality or success probability.
Support planning index35/100Heuristic from down-facing geometry and material settings; not support volume or material percentage.
Heuristic time8.1 hUnsliced one-part quote allowance, not measured machine time. It does not model actual toolpaths, acceleration, travel, or heating.
Planning risk index49/100Rule-based comparison index; not an observed or predicted failure probability.
Quote allowanceUSD 111.26Uses heuristic material/time allowances, labor, setup, a formula-based contingency, and margin; not validated production cost.
Layer count196At 0.20 mm layers before raft or slicer adjustments.
Build utilization80%Largest XY share of the Custom 220 build plate.
Evidence basisMesh + heuristicsGeometry from 18,372 analyzed mesh triangles; time, material allowance, and planning indices are unvalidated heuristics, not slicer output.
Use-case fitGeneralNo specialized use-case constraint is applied.
Shell intentSingle bodyNo disconnected multi-part signal was measured.
COMPARE SETUPS

Five estimated approaches, side by side.

What it does. Recalculates five settings-only estimate alternatives. How to use it. Recalculate after changing Setup, then choose one plan to inspect; the cards are alternatives, not steps. Output. Updated score, time, support, and quote estimates with the prepared pose held fixed.

Print Studio holds the prepared pose, material, model scale, machine, quantity, calibration, and shop economics constant while comparing nozzle, layer height, infill, and quality. Support stays tied to the analyzed pose. Every card shows its ratio to the current planning reference; these are not sliced toolpaths.

COMPARE

Submitted versus your current plan

Stop guessing which tradeoff won.

What it does. Shows the submitted estimate beside the current plan and manages browser-local saved plans. How to use it. Build or choose a current plan first, save it if needed, then restore or export the exact plan you want. Output. A browser-local plan entry or exported plan file—not geometry or G-code.

PRODUCTION WORKFLOW

Prepare, hand off settings, print, learn.

The current view associates this plan with the active model identity and production profile; saved-plan retention is browser-local and described below.

What it does. Carries a reviewed plan through repair tracking, slicer handoff, and recorded outcome. How to use it. Finish required repair checks, download settings for your real slicer, print there, then record what actually happened. Output. Checklist progress, a settings file, and browser-local calibration evidence.

Repair checklist

Track decisions and outside repairs before trusting the estimate. Checking an item does not modify the model; browser-local progress expires no more than 90 days after the last change.

Binding checklist to the active model and production setup…
Slicer settings handoff

Download the current active-model assumptions as settings, open them in your slicer, then validate the real toolpaths there. Print Studio has not sliced the model. If physical Fix or Prepare changes are pending, Studio withholds this handoff until Build prepared model verifies and reloads those exact bytes.

  • Confirm the selected printer, nozzle, and material profile exist in the slicer.
  • Inspect first-layer contact and every support interface in layer preview.
  • Verify walls, holes, bridges, infill, and disconnected objects before exporting G-code.
  • These time/material numbers are unsliced heuristic quote allowances. Verify slicer toolpaths, printer-specific estimates, and actual shop results before production.

Settings preview is free. INI download requires a production pass or an eligible plan and counts as one production attempt.

Browser-local outcome learning

Record what happened on this device. Up to 30 outcomes per printer/material, including the optional note, stay in this browser for no more than 90 days after the last record and adjust later estimates here.

No outcomes recorded for this printer/material yet.
